The paperwork problem on a mobile job

A mobile mechanic's day is phone calls, texts with blurry photos, a job in a parking lot, another in a driveway across town, and invoices written up at night. The work is fine. The admin is what eats the evening: rebuilding quotes from memory, retyping them into invoices, chasing who has paid.

3. Send a branded estimate

Send the estimate as a branded link or PDF by text or email. The customer sees an itemized quote with your business name on it instead of a number in a text thread.

4. Estimate to invoice in one tap

5. Track what's been paid

What the app doesn't do

It's an estimating and invoicing tool, not a scheduling, dispatch or accounting system. Estimates are informational, not insurance appraisals. You still confirm the diagnosis in person before you turn a wrench, and you still set your own final price.

Paperwork rules that apply to mobile work

Rules vary by state and city, so check with your state's automotive repair or consumer protection agency. Two examples show why the paperwork matters:

• California. Under Bureau of Automotive Repair regulations effective October 1, 2025, a mobile automotive repair dealer must give a physical address where records are kept and available for inspection, and must record on the final invoice where the repair was performed: the street address or, if there isn't one, a description such as the nearest cross-street or a landmark. An existing dealer doing mobile repairs more than 50 miles from its registered location needs a separate registration.
• A/C work anywhere in the US. The EPA requires technicians who service motor vehicle air conditioning for payment to be certified under Clean Air Act section 609 and to use approved refrigerant handling equipment.

Pricing mobile work

Mobile mechanics carry different costs than a shop: fuel, van payments, drive time and tools that live in the vehicle, but usually no building.
